The iPhone in Medicine

It hasn’t been long now since Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO announced the arrival of the iPhone 3g, it has been a year since the original iPhone was released. We decided to look at the possible uses of this pretty cool piece of kit in the medical world.

Epocrates, the medical PDA software maker has produced an online web app especially for the iPhone. The web app is a free drug reference, providing info on:

Drug Dosing
Drug Interactions
Retail Pricing
Safety & Monitoring
Adverse Reactions

As of the iPhone 3g, the web app will instead be available as a downloadable application through the apple app store, making the reference available offline.
